FESTIVAL. Kasper Holten, director of the Royal Danish Opera, has signed his first feature film with "Juan", opening internationally on 8 October at Asia's top film festival in Pusan.

NATIONAL FESTIVAL. Denmark's number one festival for children and youth films, BUSTER, celebrates its tenth birthday with an abundance of films from around the world. Workshops, panel debates and a young filmmakers' competition is part of the fun, when the festival kicks off 9 September.

NEW RELEASES. Danish feature film releases in Danish cinemas August-September include Susanne Bier's latest film 'In a Better World', selected for Toronto, and three debuting feature films for September: the youth drama 'Hold Me Tight', 'The Experiment' and 'Nothing's All Bad'.

FILMHOUSE. Kubrick masterpieces—'Dr. Strangelove', 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'Lolita'—are among the highlights at Copenhagen Filmhouse in September, together with new international docs and works by women directors. Events include a session with Maya Deren, Turkish hiphop from Berlin and Friday late night with the Rolling Stones in exile.

AWARDS. Director of Photography Lars Skree, who put his life on the line while filming the war drama 'Armadillo' in Afghanistan, received the Roos Award 2010 at Ebeltoft, Saturday 28 August.

AWARDS. 'Megaheavy' and 'Out of Love' were among the winning titles at Odense International Film Festival's awards ceremony Friday 27 August.

FESTIVAL. Thomas Vinterberg and Nimbus Film's 'Submarino' received the Critics' Award today at the Norwegian film festival in Haugesund.

FESTIVAL. Three Danish films are selected for Montreal World Film Festival (26 August – 6 September). Bille August will be leading the World Competition jury.

INDUSTRY. Today the DFI-appointed Danish Oscar-committee has put forward three films, one of which will be submitted as a candidate for Best Foreign Language Film. The films are 'Submarino', 'R' and 'In a Better World'.
