Shoot (The bride of glomdal)

The Bride of Glomdal was shot over a few weeks in the summer of 1925.

The exterior scenes were shot in the Upper Rendal valley, approx. 150 km north of Oslo, and in Bærum on the western outskirts of Oslo. The interior scenes were shot in a warehouse at the Akershus fortress. According to Drum and Drum (2000) the dramatic scene at the end of the film was shot in the Glomma River, the longest river in Norway.

In a newspaper interview, Dreyer calls the film a rush job. He had only a few days for casting and he shot the film on the spot from day to day, working without a script.
