The shoot, at Kronborg Castle, Elsinore, takes place from 3-11 November 1947. The film has a budget of 30,000 kroner.
On 19 November 1949, the film is halted for budget reasons, cf. internal memo in the case file. In December 1953, Dansk Kulturfilm decides to resurrect the film. Jørgen Roos and Poul Solbjerghøj look through the material, and the decision is made to finish a film running approximately 10 minutes with the addition of a few supplementary shots.
