The shoot started on or around 1 July 1948 and lasted an estimated 10-14 days.
The settling of accounts with the production company, Preben Frank Film, shows that the production costs amounted to 16,271.63 kroner. Moreover, according to Dansk Kulturfilm’s draft accounts from the case file, Dreyer received 500 kroner for writing an outline for the film, 1,000 kroner for the manuscript and 4,000 kroner for directing. The costs of the score and opening credits amounted to approx. 5,500 kroner.
Since Preben Frank’s health was declining, Dreyer oversaw the postproduction, editing and scoring with Dansk Kulturfilm.
